Bottled history:

How it is made

Red wine vinification, with maceration of the skins for around 10 days, and frequent, delicate pumping over. The fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 28-30°C. The wine is aged in Slavonian oak barrels for 7-8 months.

Vintage 2018
The seasonal pattern favoured good to excellent ripening, which, thanks to the selection of the grapes, first in the fields and then in the cellars, meant that the vinification process was able to fully respect the quality of the grapes harvested.

Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand. Red wine vinification, with maceration of the skins for around 10 days, and frequent, delicate pumping over. Temperature-controlled fermentation at 24°C.

Aging
In steel, and then in the bottle for 3 months.

Harvest
From the 17th September to the 12th October 2018.

Average altitude of the vineyards
From 120 to 650m MSL.

Terrain type
The Montalcino hills have numerous soil profiles, as they formed in various geological eras, but they are primarily a shell-rich clay mix.

Training system
Mainly spurred cordon, but some use of Guyot.

The color is deep purple-red, it is clear with good legs.

Aromas of spices
Very refined, and truly captivating, with clear aromas of cherry and red berries, followed by a lightly spiced finale.

Pairs well with
Its characteristics are brought out by dishes of medium structure, such as pasta with meat, poultry, mushroom or truffle sauces, risottos, and pork or veal dishes with sauce.

Main aromas
Intense on the palate, with long-lasting persistence, and a good balance between its various components.
